This temporary loss of power is worth it for the enhanced driving experience of being able to hear the new soundtrack the engine makes, and can be simply remedied with a new tune. I can't say for sure that there is any actual power difference, since I had been running the MAPerformance stage 1 OTS map that I received when I purchased my access port and now had to temporarily go to the Cobb Stage 1+ OTS map, I have not been able to hit the same peak boost yet which I had figured would be the case. For reference, I did not install the optional end cap as I preferred having the extra noise. Not too loud but definitely adds to the driving experience. On my first drive, the induction and blow off sounds are perfect. It may have taken longer to do the off car assembly than it did to remove the old and install the new.
